Bay Area Travel Guide: Things to Do, Eat, Drink, & Shop in the San Francisco Mission District6/1/2018
Narrated by Keith Lewis (with input from Lynn)
Even for an adventurous couple like us, we are occasionally guilty of having a few too many quiet nights in (Ask us about some of our favorite TV shows sometime). So how do you break the cycle of binge watching Netflix? Well, we recently challenged ourselves to make our weekends more adventurous, even if we are working a photoshoot! Thus the tradition of Date Night began, with Lynn taking the helm for this most recent weekend!
We had the whole day to ourselves for once, which is a rare occurrence these days. We opted for a less packed, more casual date day in San Francisco, which you will see in the photos, but below are some of our favorite things to do, eat, and see in the city!

Milk Tea, Sushi, and Giant Robots. That is what you think of when you think of Taiwan and Japan right? Well this past Christmas break, we broke those stereotypes (well except the milk tea one) in our amazing Taiwan and Japan trip! Check out our itinerary below for things to do, places to eat, and tips for travel.

Canada and America share many things:
Of course, even the best laid plans can be thrown off. In short, we dealt with cancelled and delayed flights, road closures and changing reservations, but eventually, late Thursday night (about 1am) we pulled in to our campground in Jasper in an SUV. While we mostly just traveled on Thursday, we did pull out at a relatively unpopulated lake in between Banff and Jasper to snag an awesome photo as the light was fading! We had to change and improvise some plans but we had an amazing trip! Here are some tips and hiking guides we put together after spending a week in the Canadian Rockies! No trip to California is complete without visiting LA. From the hidden gems to the popular sites, check out our hipster guide to LA for things to see, places to photograph, and food to eat!
What better way to celebrate our one year anniversary than to visit Middle Earth? As an avid Lord of the Rings fan, I immediately jumped on the opportunity to ride on horses to Isengard and drink ale at The Green Dragon. Though a short trip, it was certainly a wonderful adventure to remember.
Here was our itinerary! Packed with a lot of driving - I would suggest extending the trip to two weeks if you can! We definitely ran out of time, and especially with the shorter winter days, found ourselves rushing from place to place. In the South Island, we rented our campervan from Britz, which was surprisingly great! There were mixed reviews online so we were skeptical, but we had no problems with the van, and it was quite spacious and well stocked. In Auckland, we rented a Toyota Yaris from GoRentals, which also worked out pretty well. Day 1:
* These were on our itinerary but we didn't make it! Unfortunately we either ran out of time or ran into poor weather conditions. When we found a flight deal for London, we immediately jumped on it and booked our flights for a week in the UK. But as we started planning, we realized that we weren't really city people - instead, we really wanted to go out and see the wild landscapes of the UK. So we quickly booked flights from London to Edinburgh, and took an epic adventure to the Isle of Skye. It was our first time taking a campervan, so it was certainly a learning curve, but it was so worth it!
Here's our itinerary below, and the Google Maps directions if you want them! Day 1
