D planned a romantic getaway at Post Ranch Inn for their 7 year anniversary. He wanted to surprise her with a proposal, so we chose a sunset location for them to stop at on their drive down Highway 1. Though we battled a bit of poison oak to get here, it was worth the views! After a quick adventure on the rocks, we continued to Calla Lily Valley to see the spring blooms and ended with a beautiful sunset on the beach. Check out the rest of their proposal below!

J + A loved travelling - it was something they were both passionate about, and they shared so many memories together exploring new places over the past 4 years together. When J reached out about planning his proposal, he knew he wanted it to be in a place that they hadn't been before. Together we chose one of my favorite spots, a hidden gem on the coast of Big Sur for an intimate proposal overlooking the cliffs. This March proposal ended up being the perfect weather, and we got to see a beautiful sunset just as we ended the session. Check out the rest of their Big Sur proposal below!
When I + P reached out to me about doing a double proposal, I was so excited to get to help them capture a moment and milestone that felt so authentic to who they were. The idea of one person proposing to the other just didn't feel right, so they chose to do their proposal their own way - by sharing letters with each other and proposing at the same time. Though they had thought about proposing somewhere abroad like Patagonia, they realized that they wanted to share this moment in a place that was meaningful to them. Not only had they spent many weekend trips driving up Highway 1 to explore Big Sur, but the ocean had always been a special place for them. They even both chose blue outfits and blue rings to match! I took them to some of my favorite hidden gem spots on the coast, where they got to share a private moment overlooking the cliffs. We even got to see the seasonal calla lillies blooming on our way to the beach! Check out the rest of their Big Sur double proposal below!
J told me that the redwoods were a special place for them. They had spent many weekends exploring different redwood trails all over the Bay Area, and even lived near a few of them. When it came time to planning the proposal, J wanted to make sure that he could throw her off his trail. To make sure she didn't know his plans, he had her dress up to multiple day trips. We chose this beautiful redwoods grove as the perfect setting for his proposal - one of my favorites where the light streams through the trees, away from the crowds where you can hear the wind rustling the leaves. When he took her on an afternoon stroll, she had no idea! Check out the rest of his Big Sur redwoods proposal below.
These two just moved to California for new jobs and wanted to celebrate their engagement in a place that reflected their love out outdoors and nature! So much of their relationship had unfolded in beautiful places, so it was the perfect way to capture their love story in a way that was genuine and authentic. I took them to some of my favorite redwood and coastal trails off Highway 1 in Big Sur - check out the rest of the engagement session below!
C originally thought about proposing in Half Moon Bay, but I showed him some photos from Big Sur and he knew it was just the perfect place! They drove up early in the morning to avoid the crowds, and even though the fog settled into the mountains in the beginning, we still got to see a magical misty morning as we climbed down the mountain. The best part - she was so surprised, and couldn’t help but tear up when he asked her to marry him. Check out the rest of C + M's foggy Big Sur proposal below!
These two adventurous souls got engaged in Big Sur, so they just had to come back to celebrate their engagement (and also to get married right here on the cliffs next year!) When it came to choosing a spot, there were countless options along the coast of Big Sur. I took them to one of my favorite hidden gems - one that was a bit tricky to get to because of all the poison oak, as well as the steep hill to climb down. These two didn't blink an eye and happily hiked down the paths, and it was well worth it. Check out of the rest of C + B's Big Sur engagement session below!
These two were both originally from California, but moved to Texas with their families. Their parents were even friends in college, how crazy is that?! In fact, her dad was the one who set these two up. When they started planning a trip back to California to visit their extended families, C knew that this was the perfect opportunity to propose. We planned for the proposal to be right at sunset, and trekked through some poison oak trails to get to this incredible spot. Check out the rest of C + C's Big Sur proposal below!
If you're looking for a romantic place to stay in Big Sur, Alila Ventana is the place to go. This luxury resort is the perfect place for rest and relaxation, with beautiful redwood trails, views overlooking the ocean, and plenty of spots to sit or even hammock. When J decided to propose on their trip to Big Sur, I knew the perfect spot at Ventana for the proposal. Check out the rest of his Big Sur proposal below!
These two were thinking of eloping in Big Sur, so they figured why not capture their engagement photos there! Being just a few hours drive down from the Bay Area, they couldn't believe they had never come here and knew that they would have to come back. We started off climbing on the rocky cliffs and ended their session with sunset on the beach. Check out the rest of their engagement session below!
